Producer InformationChâteau Fonplégade is a wine estate located on the southern hillside of Saint-Émilion, on Bordeaux's renowned Right Bank. The estate is known for its Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé wines made predominantly from Merlot, and takes its name Fonplégade, which means "fountain of plenty", from an underground water source on the property.The winegrowing potential of the land was recognized by Jean-Pierre Beylot, who built the château and surrounding estate in 1852. Since 2004, Château Fonplégade has been owned by Stephen and Denise Adams, who also own Château L'Enclos in Pomerol. The estate has been fully converted to organic practices and is farmed by hand using modern viticultural techniques. Today, globally renowned oenologist Michel Rolland is a consultant for the estate.
