The founders of Bardstown Bourbon Company really stood on the edge of a 100-acre farm site in Bardstown, Kentucky, and thought: “Well, go big or go home.” And it looks like that big-shot mentality paid off as their remarkable facility quickly became one of the largest and most innovative distilleries in the world. So, if we translate that into numbers — the distillery produces 7 million gallons of Spirit and 110,000 barrels per year. Sheesh. Founded in 2013, with production hitting full stride in 2015, they are the central production for dozens of famous brands — including Jefferson’s, High West, James E. Pepper, and many more.

Hand Barrel is one of their respectable projects that revolves around creating the perfect Whiskey — one that had to work hard for its character and class. Their small-batch barrel-to-bottle approach really emphasizes the bottle part, with all of their sleek vessels designed to protect the golden juice from being compromised by the harm of the UV light. Their Black Char Straight Bourbon Whiskey flaunts an elegant black exterior and a beautifully rounded, bold, and viscous interior. Its mash-bill of 64% corn, 24% rye, and 12% malted barley produces a sweet interplay of oaky caramel, honey, pepper, baked apple, and cinnamon. This amber beauty aged in American white oak barrels and got bottled at 105 proof, creating a real authentic Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey experience.
